Bodice was founded by Ruchika Sachdeva in New Delhi in May 2011, after she graduated in Fashion Design and Technology from London College of Fashion. The designer has since then been the recipient of the Elle India Style Award for Breakthrough Designer (2012), Grazia India Award for the Best Urban Collection (2013), Vogue India’s Fashion Fund/ CFDA in 2014 where she got a funding of 2.5 Million Indian Rupees. Most recently, she was on the India’s 30 under 30 list.
With a flagship store in Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi, Bodice is stocked in around 20 stores across India and over 15 stores internationally.
Bodice is looking to hire a textile designer.
Assisting Junior and Senior Designer with research & development for seasonal mood board for print design, technique, typography and colour palette
Assisting in developing and designing original and innovative textile range
Mocking up textile to scale on garments within assigned colour palette
Managing & creating technical drawings (to scale)
Following up with any relevant print comments / liaising with factory
Creating and developing original textile design ideas, concepts, embroideries, fabrications and seasonal themes.
Sourcing of relevant fabrics, embroideries and suppliers to meet the design requirements
Creating specs/tech packs for production
Assist the design process with the ability to use Photoshop and illustrator at an intermediate level.
The Ideal Candidate
It is essential that you have studied print/textile or graphic design
At least 1 year experience in the industry is a plus but not mandatory
Proficient in Excel
Highly proficient in Adobe packages: Photoshop, Illustrator & Indesign as well as free hand sketching
The Juice is a fashion, culture and lifestyle publication funded by Jabong.com. The magazine is based out of Mumbai and first issue came out in May 2014. Their print run is 1.45 lacs. They are looking to hire interns for the fashion department for tenure of three months.
