Bodice was founded by Ruchika Sachdeva in New Delhi in May 2011, after she graduated in Fashion Design and Technology from London College of Fashion. The designer has since then been the recipient of the Elle India Style Award for Breakthrough Designer (2012), Grazia India Award for the Best Urban Collection (2013), Vogue India’s Fashion Fund/ CFDA in 2014 where she got a funding of 2.5 Million Indian Rupees. Most recently, she was on the India’s 30 under 30 list. With a flagship store in Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi, Bodice is stocked in around 20 stores across India and over 15 stores internationally.

Bodice is looking to hire a driven and experienced Fashion Designer to join our team in Delhi, He/She would be accountable for designing a modern collection with a strong fashion direction encapsulating the attitude of the Founder. The role is best suited for a highly talented, motivated, and experienced individual with a strong understanding of the brand identity and vision. The position is ideal for someone with a background working with fashion brands (contemporary preferred ) with a minimum of 2 years industry experience.
-Design management and development from conception to follow through.
-Oversee aesthetic development of each seasonal commercial collection.
-Develop and review proposals of colour and fabrics.
-Thorough research and development of new ideas for each season (colour, fabric, silhouette).
-Able to work on present season and anticipate ideas and concepts for the following seasons at the same time.
-Create and formulate innovative fashion design concepts
-Form a clear vision of the season’s inspiration.
-Work closely with technical team to ensure proper fit and proportions
The Ideal Candidate:
-Clear understanding of the Bodice brand to execute the Founder’s vision and maintain brand identity
– Ability to think three-dimensionally and to visualise from swatch to body.
-Solid understanding of product construction and production (e.g., finishing techniques, fabrics, trim development, fit)
-Ability to work with Adobe and all pertinent software/OS
-Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
-Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and effectively influence the team
-Able to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment
-Flexible to deadlines, weekend work, long hours.
– Good eye for proportion
-Very good understanding of the design process, apparel, and image aesthetics
-Highly proficient in pattern making, sewing, garment construction, and engineering
-Minimum 2 years Fashion Design experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from an accredited University
Bodice is looking for an Assistant Merchandiser who will work directly with the Retail Merchandising, Design, Technical, Product Development and Creative teams, whilst keeping up to date all delivery schedules, buy assortments and various product trackers.
-Managing product data entry in assortment plans, including costs, retails, seasonal themes, and purchase order numbers
-Updating line sheets
-Managing customer orders
-Communicating between different production departments
-Stock inventory management
-Solid experience of working for a fashion brand
-An ability to understand the priorities of retail and head office functions
-A good approach to organisation and timekeeping to manage teams workload and deadlines
-Attention to detail is key as this is a fast paced role, so a sharp eye is essential
-Team player who collaborates and communicates effectively at all levels
-Ability to be flexible over working hours during market and peak period
-Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
